Person-centered counseling rooted in trust and genuine connection
Carrie Gassett, MA, LMHC-A
Counseling for Individual Adults Aged 18+
My Approach
My therapeutic approach is relational, attachment-based, and somatic. I believe that healing occurs in relationship with others and that a safe therapeutic bond can facilitate corrective experiences, reveal patterns, and help you establish healthy boundaries and practice honest communication.
In session, I encourage you to drop into the present moment, listen to your nervous system, and trust your inherent wisdom about your felt sense. I may ask you how emotions feel in your body and what images or stories are playing through your mind as you relate your experiences. I welcome all parts of you to show up in therapy without judgment.
With curiosity and compassion, we’ll uncover and integrate what the mind and body have to offer. It is my belief that becoming more aware of your unique process leads to empowerment, growth, and a more satisfying life.
I draw from existential, somatic, and attachment-based methodologies such as Gestalt, Emotionally-Focused Individual Therapy, Lifespan Integration, and Mindfulness theories.
